 Aperol Spritz

The Aperol Spritz is a low-ABV drink that is a bit citrusy, bubbly, and a little bitter. It is usually served in a wine glass with an orange slice. Aperol Spritzes have long been popular in Europe and have been creating quite a stir in the United States in recent years. Its inviting red-orange color and refreshing taste appeals to many people, especially since it’s easy to make and fun to share. Aperol is a bitter Italian apéritif that dates back to 1919. It comprises “an infusion of selected herbs and roots.” While tastemakers agree that gentian, rhubarb, and orange are some of the primary flavors, the full recipe remains a secret.

INGREDIENTS

2 ounces Aperol

3 ounces prosecco

1 ounce
sparkling water

Orange slice, for garnish

METHOD

Fill the wine glass about halfway with ice.
